TM VIBRATIONS IACES LC TIMISOARA, November 2016
The last international event of 2016 was held in the beautiful city of Timisoara, in western Romania between 13 and 20 November 2016. Almost 30 participants from 8 different countries among LC Porto, LC Belgrade, LC Xanthi, LC Delft, LC Karlsruhe, LC Bogazici, and many Alumni’s were there and spent 6 unforgettable days.

The main subject of this event was the influence of earthquake in construction design as the name of the event TM Vibrations reveals. The lectures were taking place at Department of civil engineering of Timisoara’s Polytechnic University. During the event we had also the change to visit a steel factory, the brewery of Timisoara’s beer, to taste Romanian food, to have a tour in the construction site of Timisoara’s new mall area. Highlight was the spaghetti and marshmallows building competition. The finished models of the 4 teams had been tested in the shaking table of the steel lab and the winning team with the best model had been awarded prices. We had also a day trip to Arad region, to the city of Oradea near the Hungarian borders and finally to swim in the hot water pools at the Apollo-Felix Open-Air Bath.
